Since 1961, we have helped to permanently protect over 2500 acres in the Upper Valley.View our footprint here. Fee-Owned LandsWe own several preserves outright, known as ownership-in-fee. These properties were either purchased at full market value, were a discounted “bargain sale” (a useful tool for maximizing your tax deduction) or donated outright by the landowners. All of our properties have dedicated stewardship funds to help maintain the land forever- the responsibility we shoulder as a land trust. Conservation EasementsEasements are a valuable tool for permanently protecting land that remains under private ownership. Customized for each property, these conditions run with the land, protecting it from development threats now and in the future. Hanover Conservancy-held easements are monitored annually. What We Do
