Spring 2024 Amphibian Migration Team
March 28 @ 6:30 PM - April 30 @ 6:30 PM
Warm, wet evenings are almost here, and with them, the return of amphibian migration season! Each spring, spotted salamanders, spring peepers, wood frogs, and other amphibians migrate en masse, often making dangerous road crossings on their way to and from vernal pools.
If you are interested local volunteers in helping to assist these amazing creatures in their annual travels, as well as collecting important data about the health of their species, we encourage you to attend the North Branch Nature Center’s Amphibian Road Crossing training night, on Thursday, March 28th, from 6:30-8pm. The training will be hosted online via zoom, with volunteers tuning in from across Vermont and the Upper Valley.
You can also sign up using the form below to be added to our growing list of Hanover-based volunteers, for opportunities to participate close to home later in the season.
