One of the first signs of spring are the blooms of wildflowers! More than just beautiful accents to our hiking trails, wildflowers serve an essential role in the ecosystem supporting pollinators and wildlife. We’ve put together a wildflower scavenger hunt to help you learn some common spring wildflowers that are found on Hanover Natural Areas.
Visit these natural areas in late April and May: Mink Brook Nature Preserve and Tanzi Tract, Balch Hill Natural Area, Greensboro Natural Area. We offer three options: two different pdf versions that you can print and take with you, and one using the phone app iNaturalist. Take a photo of your results and send it to info@hanoverconservancy.org and receive a complimentary packet of wildflower seeds! We would love to know what you’re finding outside!
